STIMS: The Shamrock Traditional Irish Music Society, Inc.
Session in Norwalk, CT
New weekly Irish traditional music session at O'Neill's bar in Norwalk, CT
77 Main St., 06854, opposite the Crown Sono Regent Cinema.

The musicians will play every Thursday night from 8-11pm approx., beginning January 10th '08.

The line-up of musicians is top class - Grainne Murphy, John Redmond, Isaac Alderson and Alan Murray (+ occasional celebrity "guests"!).
  • Gráinne Murphy: one of the best Irish fiddlers ever to come out of Boston, she features regularly in Paddy Reilly's, the Pig & Whistle, and Flanigan's
  • John Redmond: from Bunclody in Co. Wexford is a 3-time All Ireland winner on the two row button accordion - one of the most innovative and brilliant accordion players to hit the scene
  • Isaac Alderson: from Chicago was named the All-Ireland Senior Champion on no less than three instruments (uilleann pipes, flute, and whistle) at the 2002 Fleadh Cheoil in Listowel. He is the first American ever to win such a "hat trick" victory, and he is also the first to win either competitions for the flute and pipes, and the first since Joanie Madden to win the tin whistle championship
  • Alan Murray, from Glasgow, plays guitar and whistle beautifully. If you want a highlight for the night, ask nicely and he'll sing a song for you too!
Make sure to come down and enjoy the very best of Irish food, drink and music - and bring your friends along! Bring your instrument if you feel like joining in. I can't be there myself, as I don't fly in until the weekend, but I will be there the following week.
